Our refurbished iPhone X devices show minimal signs of wear. Our phones are backed by a one year warranty, all functions tested, minimum 90% battery health and a lifetime IMEI guarantee. Available for pickup at either of our Winnipeg stores, or shipping across Canada, rest assured you're buying from a trusted source.

Please note that all our devices come fully charged, but do not include headphones, MFI lightning cables, or 5W wall adapters. We prefer to raise our quality standard, offer a higher guaranteed Battery Health, and one year warranty - something no other vendor does - than provide accessories most of our customers already likely have at home from previous devices.

Does Apple sell refurbished iPhones in Canada?

Apple calls it’s pre-owned devices Certified Refurbished due to their quality control and the fact they are noticeably marked down compared to a brand new sealed device. The issue many Canadians run into is that this stock is not available priced in Canadian dollars, or available for shipping within Canada to avoid potential customs and import fees.

Is a refurbished iPhone X worth it?

Getting a refurbished iPhone X through Apple or a vetted vendor, is definitely a better and more cost-effective solution than getting fleeced by a carrier for a device that was released almost 4 years ago. With the release of the iPhone 12 series at the end of 2020, many of the first generation iPhone X devices have lost their value and became very affordable, especially if your trading in another device. While the carriers may not offer you much for your iPhone 6s or iPhone 7, Mobile Tech Lab can get you more cash - or store credit - than anyone else for your old phone, whether it’s working or not.

Does Apple sell refurbished iPhone X?

Online, Apple only has what they call Certified Refurbished iPhone X devices available on their U.S site. These devices come in a simple white box, may have had their screen, housing, battery or more replaced and are backed with a one year warranty. Purchasing a device like this in a Canadian Apple Retail store is not possible, although due to demand Apple has made a limited amount available on third party sites like Amazon.

Where is the best place to buy a refurbished iPhone?

The best place to find a refurbished iPhone - any model - is definitely Mobile Tech Lab. Not only do we offer the same one year warranty as Apple, but we can give you more than both the Apple Store and the carrier for any of your used devices, as credit towards a new iPhone X or any other device. No matter where you choose to buy a pre-owned iPhone X, avoid Kijiji or Facebook marketplace as those channels offer no recourse if you have issues with functionality like the microphone, Face ID or even the OLED touch screen.

What colours is the iPhone X available in?

Unlike the iPhone 8 series of devices, the iPhone X was only released in two colours - Silver (often referred to as White) and Space Grey (often referred to as Black or just Grey).

Released in 2017, the iPhone X (or iPhone Ten as many call it) revolutionized the standards to which Apple would go to with their devices. By removing a bezel and implementing a flawless 5.8" OLED display, Apple created a new standard for smartphone users. The removal of the home button and implementation of Face ID was almost as controversial as the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack which caused so much fuss during the iPhone 7 release.

The iPhone X sets a new standard in many ways, not only with it's tech but aesthetically it's a very pleasing phone to own.

iPhone X Build

The entire phone is Gorilla Glass and stainless steel, unlike the less expensive and more durable aluminum builds of previous models - excluding the iPhone 8. This does mean more crack back glass panels, but nothing a proper case and tempered glass cannot protect. Expect minimal branding on the back, with just an Apple logo and no mention of IMEI's or industrial logos - if your device has any of that, you probably received a fake or counterfeit unit.

iPhone X CPU / Processor

The iPhone X is definitely faster than your current phone - the A11 Bionic chipset is hexa-core and is going to be noticeably faster moving between applications and clocks in at 2.39GHZ so you won't be noticing any frustrating lag or downtime.

Camera Quality

The camera is definitely what many people are going to look into the iPhone X for - the selfie camera is a 7MP F/2.2 with full HDR mode. The rear camera is quite impressive with dual 12MP wide angle F/1.8 specs. Yes, you get the amazing portrait mode and decent low light auto-focus which we can only expect to improve with future iOS updates.

iPhone X Storage Capacity

Apple is making the iPhone X available in Canada and the U.S with two capacity options - 64GB and 256GB. The colour options are Silver and Space Grey.

Should You Buy A Used or New iPhone X?

There are inevitably going to be less expensive iPhone X devices being sold on sites like Kijiji and Facebook marketplace. While these might be tempting as they are offered at a lower price point there are a few reasons you might not want to risk it. First would be the risk of blacklisting. Anyone who sells you a phone could easily report the IMEI as stolen or have stolen the phone themselves which will inevitably result in it being blacklisted - i.e. marked unusable on any cellular network.

The second issue that many people fail to realize is that inexperienced repair shops can often damage the Face ID module and this can cause delay or intermittent access to the phone. If you do decide to buy used, then definitely check the Face ID functionality by adding your face to the phone and locking / unlocking it with your face to make sure it is actually as responsive as you need it to be.
