Is the iPhone 6S Plus still worth buying in 2021?

The iPhone 6S Plus was released in 2015 alongside it's little brother the iPhone 6S and was an immediate upgrade to the previously released iPhone 6S. It featured 3D Touch capacity, a bigger battery, faster CPU and - most important of all to some - was available in Rose Gold. As of 2021, almost 7 years later the device is still considered a great economic choice for those that want to be able to use iOS 14 and some of their favorite apps. It will likely be the first on the chopping block for deprecation when iOS 15 is released, however for now the 6S Plus is a 5.5" display phone that's a no brainer at it's current price points in terms of affordability.

How much is a used iPhone 6S Plus?

Larger format releases are an annual thing for Apple, and over time consumer behavior has told us that older models tend to retain more of their resale value when compared to the base model. This trend is no different with the 6S Plus versus the regular 4.7" iPhone 6S.

While both are very affordable smartphones even as we come into 2021, the 6S Plus will always cost slightly more, even as a reconditioned unit due to the niche demand certain consumers have for bigger phones. With that said, if you're looking for a cheaper iPhone within the Canadian market, the 6S Plus can be found straddling the $200 price point which is quite affordable.
